How to deal with sixty seconds of freedom? The World One Minutes exhibition shows selections of the best one minutes videos from almost one hundred countries.
The One Minutes is a Dutch initiative which has spread around the world. It stimulates the making and dissemination of videos of exactly one minute. The annual competition has a strong international character and by now The One Minutes Foundation manages an archive with 10,000 works from over 100 countries. It has become a new art form, building bridges between high and low culture between western en non-western art.
In collaboration with many partners around the world and the Today Art Museum in Beijing, an exhibition has been compiled, presenting selections of the best one minute videos from 90 countries. The works will be projected on the walls of the museum. In the big hall a selection is shown with highlights selected by The One Minutes foundation itself. China is well represented with selections from different Chinese cities. Next to the exhibition a 10 days one minutes workshop for Chinese art students will take place from 9 to 18 June. After being on display in Beijing, the exhibition will travel around the world.
