Dutch Culture Centre: presentation of programme and signing ceremony contract
On 16 October 2009, at a press conference in Shanghai, the Netherlands China Arts Foundation presented the cultural programme of the Dutch Culture Centre, part of Expo 2010, in Jing’An district, downtown Shanghai. From March to September, the DCC will host a rich and varied programme of exhibitions, live performance, conferences, etc. of Dutch and Chinese arts. The press conference was followed by a signing ceremony of the cooperation between the Netherlands China Arts Foundation and Jing’An District (the owners of the building). A week later the programme was presented to the Dutch press. The programme for the DCC has been completed; it is no longer possible to send in proposals.
The programme will be compiled by director Martijn Sanders in close cooperation with the Dutch cultural field, supported by funds, institutes and organisations that have experience working with Chinese partners and possess detailed plans for cultural activities in China. The organisers aim to closely involve Chinese partners in the programme and to create a dialogue with Chinese artists and organisations. Exchange and long-term cooperation are essential elements. The total programme will soon be published on www.artsfoundation.nl.
