From August 17 – 29 2009 Borneoco / CultureXpress presents a Master class contemporary Dutch Dance in Beijing in cooperation with the prestigious Beijing Normal University. The Master class will introduce dance from The Netherlands to professional dancers and dance teachers from around China. Classes will be taught by: Katie Duck (improvisation), Tom Koch (Alexander technique), Leine & Roebana (choreography / dance creation), Emio Greco | PC (workshop Double Skin, Double Mind).
The Master class also offers many interesting activities in the evening, making it a truly remarkable event:
Lectures
All the choreographers will introduce their work and show images from their performances. Tim Persent (Leine & Roebana) will introduce the Amsterdam ITs (International Theatre School) festival.
Cinedans
Janine Dijkmeijer, director of this world famous dance film festival from Amsterdam, has compiled two programmes with Dutch dance films. The films will be introduced and presented by CultureXpress (Dineke Koerts / Constance Vos).
Performance
The Master class will also give participants the unique opportunity to watch a live performance by Emio Greco | PC. They will bring their performance “One and Two” to the Beijing Normal University as the grand finale of the Master class!
